Been playing 200X for a couple of months now and the most common thing I've heard everyone say is "I'm bored!"
Well the dynamics on private servers are generally much different from one to the next. While the PW game itself has many different activities scripted, many of those are not really available on this server. And things like quests are really not worth the hassle of doing because the rewards are based on the 1X reward system.
That leaves us with Rancor, occasional random events, cultivation quests, GV and WS bosses and FBs to grind for coins and mats. For the most part, grinding is the only way to gain exp and coin and we can do that solo or by zhen or maybe leech from a kind-hearted higher level player on the GV's or WS's.
I'm not sure if its possible or worth it to try, but it would be a nice addition if quest rewards could be set at the same rate as our base exp / sp / gold rates. Just having a quest to do can help break the monotony of grinding.
I'm thinking if some of the other instances like CV and HH were more rewarding, it might provide a consistent measure of activities that would promote more party hunts and help prevent that boredom factor, not to mention increasing a measure of teamwork and friendship among the players.
I know GV and Frost are down...maybe fixing and tanking Frost a bit could be fun too. For what its worth...I think more team necessary activities would go a long way toward improving the server's player retention rate.
Suggestions for activities?
Re: Suggestions for activities?
Some very good points and although there are already some good things for players to do, I will throw in the following:
Guilds are created in-game to allow players to not only generate a friend-base, but to also do activities with each other.
The majority of people complaining about being bored do not actually do anything with their guild mates, this is what I find. If you do team up to do things with your guild then grinding is easy, zhenning is fun and really........if you want to get rid of the boredom, a guild with an active ventrilo (voice chat) application is priceless, people can talk and joke with each other.....thats what I do and grinding has always been entertaining.
Events can be made by players too, LMS does not frown upon this so if you have any ideas, pass them onto the GMs and you can ask them for rewards from player-created events and if they agree, the GMs can offer the rewards you deem necessary for the player winning your event.
See? Lots to do
BTW MMO's are 99% grind, just in case anyone complains about this post somewhere along the way.....

Re: Suggestions for activities?
True...true. LMSPW is an awesome server and we really love playing here. I guess my point is that the PW game offers a lot of things that are fun and require teamwork. It might be nice if we had more of those things here. You can only farm 119's so many times before you want to do something else, though. And if you're EPic like me, zhen is a long time to stare at a hypnotic blue glow.
Grinding is a challenge but often more of one's endurance than one's abilities. The hard part of partying to do other stuff is that its not really worth the effort. Does anyone here run HH for the mats when its faster to grind the coins and buy them? I mean yes we've made runs, and they are fun. But its not so easy to get a squad when the run has little value. Boost experience and make it rewarding to run those instances...they're challenging and fun..and they're here, lol. That might do a lot to help.

Re: Suggestions for activities?
1000x server I see no reason to whine or complain because you already have people who are at max lvl. But 200x takes 5x as long to get to 150 so yeah I can see boredom somewhere along the way. Grinding is grinding though regardless of where you are...so just duuuu it!

Re: Suggestions for activities?
I actually had an idea in mind, but it is hard to accomplish. This will be for the 200x server:
I am suggesting an Arena event.
We already know that there are already fully geared players who have nothing to do but GRINDING (thunder and lightning). This event is for anyone who wishes for some weekend fun.
Location : Arena
Time: Weekends (Specific time open to discussion)
Description : Battle Royale in the ring.
Rules:
1) No partying. Strictly FFA. (You may form unofficial alliances, it is up to you, but know that you have to be the last man standing.)
2) Self buffs only. You may only have buffs from your class. (Also applies to REZZING and HEALING. No rezzin/healing others plz EP's/Clerics)
3) You may have heirograms, charms, potions or pills at your own expense.
4) You may wear any gear you want. (Donor gear are allowed)
5) Chosen figures of power (Im thinking of guild leaders) to be referees.
6) Winners will be given a weekly/monthly title in the forums. From this part on, I am calling for GM's support in the event planning process because they certainly have the power and the resources to execute it.
Issues raised to me:
1) Player compability issue: Non-geared, lower level, non-donor players will have a hard time winning.
Well, lets put it this way, if you are not geared, chances are you will be trying very hard to GET geared which is something that already fills your time. Also, these players have a chance to test their battle prowess in comparison with better geared players, which many enjoy doing.
2) Class Advantage: WB's/Babarians are best at being the last man alive.
Bull. Every class have their own survival technique which can be employed in various manners.
3) Attendence issue: Who would come?
This is why Im suggesting it to you all. =). I am taking my time and dont want to rush a event. We will plan it. Plan it well, and make it happen if the response is good.
4) Why not make it a team battle?
We can. Which can be an alternative to the suggestion above. But its harder to get people in multiples of lets say 3's 4's or 5's then single members. It depends on turnout.
So consider this to revive the 200x server. =) All the best people.

Re: Suggestions for activities?
I already sugested this in another post. The only difference from your post was that i would like the non custom players to have a chance. That menas all players should wear normal equips.

Really? xDVyper!on wrote:I already sugested this in another post. The only difference from your post was that i would like the non custom players to have a chance. That menas all players should wear normal equips.
You are in the 1000x server though right? Demographics are different there. also, the thing about normal equips though, is that players who have work their butts up, wants the feel of their gears being put to good use. Though I agree donor gears are OP, it is hard to have the donors to get a 2nd set of gears to compete. (Although they I could swear they have the coin to do that.) xP
Unless, you are suggesting we use NPC items. Which really, some class, like the BM/WR is item dependant. Or MG's who are *% of equipment attack value* based. Which then again comes to the issue of WR's being too OP WITH gears. Ahh, the headache.
Re: Suggestions for activities?
Well...i see no challange in killing ppl with custom equip unless they have the same chance as me. Besides that i do not want to deny them the chance of having fun as well. A custom player in such a contest would be unfair.
