registration/ log in help

this is my first time trying to play the game and I've installed and successfully patched to version 50.
It left me register an account on the 1000x server but I never received a conformation letter though idk if it send one.
anyways when I try to log into the game I get the 40 second timer, I wouldnt mind waiting but it gets half way and says cannot connect to server (I even turned off my firewall and restarted the client many times.) I thought my character may not have been registered properly so I went back to the registration and under the servers it has a box that says connection has timed out...
any help would be highly appreciated

It may have been that the server was down at the time.
Have you tried to relogin since them with success?
