Getting started guide - getting into the higher lvls guide

Post by Stilln00b » 21 Apr 2012, 12:08

Well hello there guys/girls and every1 in between,i was thinking about using the downtime of the 1000x server to do something usefull for the newcomers, since transfering from PWI to LMS pw can be tricky and also because starting out on LMS pw, if you've never played it before, can be a challenge.

NOTE : this is NOT the only way to get into the game and get your self ready for the higher lvls, this is personal prefferance and a style of game-play which most of us players find to be the best.

No matter which class you intend to play,THIS is something that will help you speed things up and shoot you into the part of the game where it gets exciting.

Step 1 : Make a blademaster, this class is the most suited for AOE grinding (we will get to that) and they have a great survivability which will allow you to save money as you wont have to spend alot on buying hieros.

*GEAR* : You wont have to worry about this at the very beggining, you start of with begginer items in your inventory which are mostly lv50+12 (some are a bit lower lvl),and they are more than enough to keep you alive while you are farming coins.

*STATS* : As you are already provided with begginer items, you will have to add as much dexterity as it is required to wear those items,ALL OTHER STATS GO INTO STRENGHT,you will not need constitution, you will not need magic (duh...).You require as much strenght points as possible for higher dmg, which will in-term speed up your farming.

*SKILLS* : There are lots of great skills which will aid you in your farming days, and to make it a bit easier i've divided them into 2 groups.

Primary Skills : Skills which are absolutely necessary for you to have if you want your farming to go smooth :(skills which you will use with your begginer dual axes) Highland Cleave,Fissure,Heavens Flame,Drake Sweep (AOE skills),axe and hammer mastery (passive skill) AND if you think switching between weapons will suit you,cyclone-kick (aoe skill),fist feat mastery (passive skill)

Secondary Skills : Aura of the golden bell,Alter marrow magical, alter marrow physical (buff skills),lion road (stun - for preventing monsters from running away once you have lured them into a mass),cloud sprint/will of the bodhisatva (increase-speed skills, just for you to move around faster)

-As there is not enough spirit points to add all those skills at once (at least under lv100/105) choose carefully which ones will you add while you are farming money.

Step 2 : As you have created your blademaster and know which skills/items you will use and where will you concentrate your stat points,it is time to lvl up your blademaster to a lvl where you can start the actuall money farm.Somewhere on this forum there is a guide with a monster map in it,find it,find the monsters suited for your lvl and get busy, until you have reached lv80.
-At this lvl you should be able to start of your farm, make sure you have a HP hiero, make sure your items are repaired and make sure u got ur coffe and music rdy,coz this will require some time.
Head to dreamwaver port (check it out on your map) and enter the teleport to weeping isle at the boat where my character is pointed.

-Here you will find monsters on which you will spend some time, until you have enough money to move on.
You will find melee monsters and ranged monsters, try to stick to the melee ones,as they will approach you to hit you,and that is what you want.
You want to find a place with a bunch of melee monsters, run around and lure 5 or more monsters to 1 spot, where you will stun them so they dont run away (lion roar stun-skill) and kill them with all of the great AOE skills you have.

-Get in there, try it a few times, find your own way of doing it since that is the BEST way to do it.

-At one point you will start thinking "should i spend some money on getting better dual axes to speed up farming?".This is personall prefferance as buying new and GOOD axes is not cheap,at least not for you since you are farming.Try to join a guild, ask for advice and you may even be as lucky to find a member which will lend you hes dual axes to farm with.

-If you feel like you have out-lvled the monsters on weeping isle, you could always find that little guide with a monster map on this forum and find some monsters which suit you,but know this : higher lvl monsters DOES mean more money drop-wise,but it will take you longer to kill them and they will hit you harder.
Personally i remained at weeping isle until i had enough money to move on.

-You will want to farm money for these items : Deicides (or decadels), Lionheart (lionrex) wrists and which ever you want or can get from these : lionheart top, pants, boots.
-The reason behind buying these items is this : Deicides (sharp edge weapon) have a -0.10 interval between hits stat,it makes you hit faster, lionrex wrists have the same stat.Other items do not have this stat BUT,once you get 2 items of same type, you get a bonus of -0.05 interval between hits, and you need as much APS (attacks per second) as you can get.

-My personal advice is to keep your eye on the world chat and wait for some1 to say they are selling these items,or buy a telecoustic and ask if some is selling. Those items that are being sold will mostly be +12 and with stones in them.
-Price of these items should range from 90m to 130m (2 socket deicides +12 cost more, but you dont need 2 sockets...)
YES you could farm money for materials needed to craft these items, but it costs alot more that way as it costs ~60m to buy all materials required,~90m to make them +12 and each stone you want to put in costs 24m.

Step 3 : Once you have farmed enough money and bought those items, you will first want to get your cultivation for demon done.Google "demon culti guide" and see everything about it there.

-When that is done, you will be ready to start farming FB's,instances in which you face mini-boss monsters which drop materials for higher grade items.

*Things that are a MUST at this point* :
-You MUST have your demon culti done as it will go too slow without the dark fury burst (skill which increases your dmg and attack speed).
-You MUST have fist-feet mastery at lv10 for maximum dmg output
-You MUST have DARK cyclone-kick which you can get after your culti is done (this skill, once used, increases your attack speed for 15 seconds, very usefull little skill).
And that is enough MUST'S for now,as you already have some of the items required to start farming FB's,which are located here :

Image

-As you can see,there are 3 lv119 FB's.
-The one in the top is called Human fb119,monsters inside it drop human martial art-god materials which cost anything from 300k to 500k each,go in there only if you intend to gather all materials needed to craft grade 16 items.
-The one in the middle is the untammed fb119,materials in this fb cost anywhere from 600k to 1m each,it is a big instance, takes long to finish it,some monsters inside are pretty annoying as they run away from you once you get close to them,or once they get to around 30% HP.
-The FB in the bottom is called elf fb119,materials cost same as the untammed fb119,it is a smaller instance than the untammed fb119 and takes less time to finish, and as a personal note : i preffer it more than the other FB's.

-You might wanna decide to farm materials so you could craft your self grade 16 armors,or you could (like me) sell all the materials you gather, use those +50% exp scrolls and reach lv120 or so,and head for the fb129 so you could farm materials for grade17 items straight away,it is entirely your choice.

-By this time, you should be in a guild with members who know a thing or two about this game, ask for advice and information on price of items, price of materials, best ways to do this or that, help with crafting items.
-Also,by this time you will have more knowledge about the game, you will know what you want to go for,if you wanna make a new character of different class and use your blademaster only to farm items for that other character.

-I would like to add this as well : get your pharmacist skill to lv3,you can do so by buying herbs at the "crafting materials" forge in archosaur and crafting random stuff at any apothecary, and accepting/completing the "pharmacist crafter" quest (google it,surely you will find a guide).
The reason behind this is,as you get lv3 pharmacist, you will be able to craft lv3 pills such as wood dmg add-on,fire dmg add-on etc.
This is something i did not know for a very long time, those pills do not cost too much to create, and it is money well spent as 1 pill lasts 2 minutes and adds a good deal of elemental dmg to your attacks, speeding up your farming quite a bit.

-As a last note i would like to add : Do NOT give up just because things seem hard at the start,as you progress things get more interesting and rewarding. If you can last enough to get to some point where you can join-in on the action which goes on in this game, such as World boss hunting,player-killing,or any other group activities, you will find your troubles worth it.It is a great game, and if you are not a quitter, you will enjoy it.

Sorry for not going too much in-dept about everything, but as most of us players that went thrue this already know, the best way of doing this is by finding your own way of getting it done, the way that suites your personall style of game-play the most.

As for the guide it self,if you have any questions,or you've found any errors, mistakes or want to update it/add something to it,feel free to do so in the posts bellow.

Good luck and have lots of fun,cya ingame.
