And by 'pharm' he means pharmacy, one of the production skills.

You get it from a quest at level 5 or 10 (I dont remember) in your starting town. Initially you must gather mats to learn Level 1. After that you must make x amount of items to be able to upgrade it. There are 10 Levels, each level allows you to make better gear/potions but also gets very expensive to upgrade.
