help with the patch =[

Ok this is my first time joining a private server for PW.. and I was wondering if someone could give me exact instructions on what I have to do to play it? I kind of have an idea.. here's what I've done so far:
i downloaded the client + installed. I updated it and it automatically did the patch thing.
Then I installed the game patch. But I keep getting this error that says zlibwapi.dll was not found and it says that reinstalling might fix the problem.. but i tried that and it's still doing it. What am I doing wrong? =[
